I took part in the maiden voyage of Your Culinary Compass and I had the delightful experience of savoring a three-course wine and food pairing at Red Newt Cellars Winery & Bistro. This restaurant, owned by David and the late Deb Whiting, helped put locavore haut cuisine on the map in the Finger Lakes region. The pairings were sumptuous and as I’m writing this, I can almost taste the delectable chicken dish, made with a sauce of Red Newt’s Verjooz.
