About the Travel Maven

About the Finger Lakes Travel Maven

Whether you’re from outside the Finger Lakes region or a local resident looking for new adventures, you’ve come to the right place! You’ll find insider secrets about this region’s treasures.  Whether it’s food, historic destinations, fairs and festivals or outdoor activities, I focus on the experience.

One thing you should know – these posts are not paid promotions. I only write about activities and destinations I can enthusiastically endorse. I will be honest — if a restaurant is too noisy for a business lunch or a museum isn’t right for kids of a certain age, I’ll let you know.   If you know of a hidden treasure or an upcoming event I should cover, please let me know! If you found a post helpful…if you agree (or disagree) with something I’ve covered…I welcome your comments!

If you’re  writer or photographer and would like to submit a piece about a person, event, destination, activity or experience in the Finger Lakes, send me a note proposing your idea.

Carol White Llewellyn, the Finger Lakes Travel Maven

About Carol White Llewellyn

I grew up in the Finger Lakes region and, from the first time my family took a trip to the Saint Laurence Seaway when I was five, I’ve been a fan of travel.

During college, I lived in Paris and traveled throughout Europe. Upon return, I jettisoned a job in retailing and moved from Philadelphia to New York City, by way of Washington State. After more than 20 years in New York where I planned, organized and marketed events as part of my job at a trade association (which exercised my travel bug ), my husband, our daughters and I moved back to the Finger Lakes region where I share my favorite regional adventures and experiences with my readers, as well as our travels beyond the Finger Lakes..
